Natalie's Birth Story
So Monday, March 24 I had my doctors appointment and was scheduled to be induced on the 27th. Well... that night after I got home I wasn't feeling the greatest. I started having contractions and eventually started throwing up. Around 11 pm I decided to head to the hospital. We got there and they ended up sending us home. Well that WHOLE night I was throwing up. I felt HORRIBLE!
Tuesday, March 25, I am STILL throwing up. It was to the point that I was drinking water just so I had something to throw up. YUCK! So Shauns mom came and picked up Cameron in the morning and I laid in bed hoping to get better. Well... at 2 pm I decided that I was seriously sick. So I called the doctor and headed into the hospital to get some fluids because I was dehydrated. I got there and found out that I had a temperature of 102.5
Yeah... so I got admitted to the hospital. And we found out that I had a kidney infection AGAIN!
Wednesday, March 26, My doctor came in to talk to me. I had an infectious disease doctor consulting and was put on 2 antibiotics and she said your not leaving this hospital till you have the baby!
Unfortunately we had to cancel the induction because of the infection... boo. However, my temperature finally broke and I could keep down food! YAY!
Thursday, March 27, I'm finally feeling much better but my blood test came back with me extremely anemic... sooo... I gained a blood doctor consult too. So I was taking 2 iron pills, prenatal vitamins, and they decided to give me iron through my iv as well... that stuff looks nasty... its like brown sludge looking stuff. So then about 11 pm at night my doctor comes in and says... we're gonna go ahead and induce you tomorrow around 10 am. YIPPY!
Friday, March 28. My nurse comes in at 6:30 and is like we're ready to move you to start your induction
I was like what happened to 10?!?! So I got a quick shower, got my stuff together and moved to my labor and delivery suite. I got all my vitals taken, got hooked up to the monitors, they hooked up the monitor and webcam for my video conference with Shaun. I started panicing cause I hadn't talked to Shaun and he didn't know that we were having the baby. Expessually since the last time I talked to him we were gonna get induced on Saturday! About 9:15 am they started the pitocin. I was already having contractions we just needed to get them steady and close together. At 11 am I got my epidural. I finally got a hold of Shaun and he showed up on the monitor around 11:30 am. Around 1 pm my water broke on its own. It was a strange feeling, I didn't know if I peed myself or if it was my water... yeah... it was amusing. Then at like 3:30 pm I started feeling alot of pressure and I was at 7 cm... then at 3:45 I was 9 cm. So we called the doctor and told her to hurry up... 3:50 I was complete and we were waiting for the doctor to get there for me to push! Let me tell you... it is NOT easy waiting for the doctor to come when you have the pressure to push. So finally the doctor comes in and is like do i have time to change... I'm like you totally better hurry up!! So at 4:30 I started pushing and Miss. Natalie entered the world at 4:50. It was kinda hecktic having the media come in and taking pictures and what not. Shaun was on the webcam with us till about 5:45. It was an amazing experience. I suppose having Shaun on the webcam was the next best thing to him actually being here.
Saturday, March 29. I talked to the reporter for the Canton Repository. Natalie is so adorable. The morning was kinda hectic. My mom brought Cameron upto the hospital for the video conference and Shauns parents and grandma came up too. He got to see Natalie one last time for an hour. After that we rested. Oh and I got MORE iron through the iv since I'm still anemic...
Sunday, March 30. I got to come home today! We headed out right before lunch. I had I think almost every nurse there to tell me bye
We were quite the celebrities there. lol. Oh and we were on the very front page of the paper! I feel special. It was sooo nice to come home though.
So thats the story... someday I'm sure Miss. Natalie is going to love her birth story. So little and causing sooo much drama already! Shes a great baby. She eats every 2 hours. I feel like all I do is feed her! lol. But shes good. Not colicy or anything. I really have been blessed with 2 wonderful children. Cameron is adjusting to having to share mommy. He is really testing me. Somedays are better than others. He loves to hold baby sister and likes to sing to her.
Tentively I'll be staying here in Ohio till sometime after my birthday in June. Part of me wants to stay here but part of me can't wait to get back home to Georgia. We've got 5 more months till Shaun comes home on R&R, and roughly 10 more till he comes home for good.
